BEP-20

BEP-20 is a token standard on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) that defines how fungible tokens can be created, issued, and utilized within the ecosystem. Similar to how ERC-20 serves as the token standard for Ethereum, BEP-20 functions as its equivalent on BSC, ensuring compatibility with decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts.

Derived from the ERC-20 standard, BEP-20 retains similar code functions with slight modifications, making it fully interoperable with ERC-20 tokens. This standard allows for the creation of a wide range of tokens, including stablecoins, governance tokens, and in-game assets, benefiting from BSC’s low transaction fees and fast processing times. BEP-20 tokens can be stored in popular wallets like Trust Wallet and MetaMask (configured for BSC) and exchanged across networks using cross-chain bridges.
