How staking rewards and fees work

How rewards work

Ndax staking rewards are paid in the same crypto you stake, on a daily or weekly schedule depending on the asset. A 20% administration fee is deducted from your rewards, never from your staked crypto. Advertised rates are shown before the fee, so the rewards you receive are lower than the advertised rate.

  • Rewards start after the bonding period ends.
  • Rewards are paid in the same crypto you staked.
  • Each asset's page shows its payout schedule, such as daily or weekly.
  • By default, rewards are paid to your wallet. You can choose to restake them automatically for each asset. See How to restake your staking rewards automatically.
  • Reward rates can change. If Ndax changes a rate, you'll be notified by email in advance.
  • Rewards appear in your transaction history and on your account statements.
The administration fee

Ndax charges a 20% administration fee on staking rewards. The fee comes out of your rewards, not the crypto you stake. Advertised rates are shown before the fee. See the Fees page.

Example

If an asset's advertised rate is 1.2% APY, the fee is 20% of the rewards, so your rate after the fee is about 0.96% APY. This example is for illustration only and isn't a forecast.

When rewards stop
  • Standard redemption: you keep receiving scheduled rewards during the unbonding period.
  • Instant redemption: you don't receive rewards for the payout period in which you unstake.
Frequently asked questions

Are staking rewards guaranteed? No. Rewards are not guaranteed, rates can change, and past rewards don't predict future rewards.

Why are my rewards lower than the advertised rate? Advertised rates are shown before the 20% administration fee, which is deducted from your rewards.

Why didn't I receive rewards right after staking? Your crypto doesn't receive rewards during the bonding period. Check the asset’s page for the duration.
