Do I need a destination tag or memo?
What is a destination tag or memo?
A destination tag or memo is a unique number or code that identifies your Ndax account on networks where many customers share one wallet address. Different networks use different names for it, but it does the same job.
Some crypto, including XRP, XLM, HBAR, ATOM, and TON, needs a destination tag or memo as well as a wallet address when you deposit to Ndax. If the Receive screen shows a memo or tag, you must include it. Without it, your deposit will be delayed and a recovery fee may apply.
Warning
Always include the memo or tag shown in your Ndax account when you deposit these assets. A deposit without one can't be matched to your account automatically.
Which crypto needs a memo or tag?
The simplest rule: when you select Receive for a crypto, Ndax shows a memo or tag with your wallet address if one is needed. If you see one, include it. If you don't, you don't need one.
Crypto that needs a memo or tag on Ndax includes:
| Asset | Ticker |
| Canton | CC |
| Celestia | TIA |
| Cosmos | ATOM |
| Gram | GRAM |
| Hedera | HBAR |
| Injective | INJ |
| Internet Computer | ICP |
| Ripple | XRP |
| Sei | SEI |
| Stacks | STX |
| Stellar | XLM |
| Toncoin | TON |
What if I forgot the memo?
Submit a Deposit Recovery Form with the transaction ID (TXID) from your sending wallet. Your deposit will be delayed, and a recovery fee may apply. See What happens if I send unsupported crypto or use the wrong network? for the steps.
