The Near Foundation is building AI “digital twin” delegates designed to vote on behalf of DAO members, aiming to solve low participation rates that often hinder decentralized governance. These AI agents will learn user preferences through interactions, voting history, and community activity, then act as proxies in governance decisions. Early models will function like chatbots, offering nudges and advice, before evolving into representatives for large groups and eventually individuals. While Lane Rettig of Near stressed that humans will remain in the loop for critical proposals, he said the ultimate goal is near-instant governance by aggregating AI delegate decisions. Bank of Canada deputy governor Rhys Mendes said the central bank may stop designating certain core inflation measures as “preferred” as part of its upcoming policy framework review. Speaking at the Ivey Business School, Mendes explained that while CPI-trim and CPI-median have been useful since 2016, they have sometimes misrepresented inflation trends, leading markets to place undue emphasis on them. Instead, the bank has recently shifted its focus toward broader “underlying inflation,” estimated at 2.5%, compared to core inflation near 3%. Financial Post

A US federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Yuga Labs, ruling that the company’s non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including Bored Ape Yacht Club and ApeCoin, do not meet the criteria to be considered securities under U.S. law. Judge Fernando M. Olguin found that the plaintiffs failed to show how Yuga’s NFTs satisfied the requirements of the Howey Test, the legal standard used by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to determine whether assets qualify as investment contracts.
