A candlestick chart is a price chart that shows how an asset traded over a specific time period. Each candlestick usually displays the opening price, closing price, highest price, and lowest price for that period. The candle body represents the price range between the open and close, while the wick represents the highest and lowest prices reached during the period. Candlestick charts can be used across different time frames, such as one minute, one hour, one day, or one week, depending on how price data is grouped.

A trader looking at one-day Bitcoin candlesticks can see where Bitcoin opened, where it closed, and how high or low it moved during that trading day.
