Delegation

Staking
Moderate

Delegation is the process of assigning staking power or voting power to another participant on a blockchain network. In a proof-of-stake system, a user delegates tokens to a validator instead of running their own validator node. The validator then uses the delegated stake to help secure the network, produce blocks, or vote on protocol activity, depending on the blockchain. Delegation lets users participate in staking without managing validator hardware, uptime, and technical operations themselves.

A user holding ATOM can delegate tokens to a Cosmos validator. The validator participates in network security, and the user may receive staking rewards based on the validator’s performance and commission.
