What Is VeThor (VTHO)?

VeThor Token (VTHO) is the gas token of VeChainThor, VeChain's EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain. It is used to pay for transactions, token transfers and smart-contract execution on the network. VTHO works alongside VET, the network's native staking asset, in a dual-token model that keeps the cost of using VeChainThor separate from VET's market price. Since the Hayabusa upgrade in December 2025, new VTHO is generated only through actively staked VET.
