Frequently Asked Questions About the Ndax API

Invalid API Keys

Q: I am getting an "invalid API key" error when trying to authenticate a websocket connection using the API. How can I resolve this?

A: To resolve the “Invalid API Key” error, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your API Key and secret and ensure that they are entered correctly. Both fields are case-sensitive, so ensure that you are only using uppercase characters when they are present in your API Key or secret.
  • The key for “username” and “password” must both be in all lowercase letters. The value for your username and password must match the username and password you use to login to NDAX.
  • Ensure you are sending requests to the correct endpoint. You can find information about available endpoints here: https://apidoc.ndax.io/#introduction
Interacting With Staked Assets

Q: Are staked assets included in the API? How can I interact with my staked assets via the API?

A: Currently, the NDAX API does not offer any interaction functionality with staked assets. Clients are not able to change their staking subscriptions or deposit/withdraw funds from staking via the API capabilities. To add, cancel or manage any of your staking subscriptions, please use the desktop website link https://ndax.io/console/staking  or the mobile app.
