Standard vs. Instant redemption: what's the difference?
How the options compare
When you unstake on Ndax, Standard redemption returns your crypto after the asset's unbonding period, and you keep receiving scheduled rewards while you wait. Instant redemption, where available, returns your crypto right away, but you don't receive rewards for the payout period in which you unstake.
| Feature | Standard redemption | Instant redemption |
| When your crypto returns | After the asset's unbonding period ends. | Right away. |
| Rewards while you wait | You keep receiving scheduled rewards during unbonding. | You don't receive rewards for the payout period in which you unstake. |
| Availability | Offered for staking assets. Check the asset's page. | Offered for some assets only. Check the asset's page. |
| Fees to unstake | None. | None. |
Things to compare before you choose
- How soon you need access to your crypto.
- How long the asset's unbonding period is.
- Crypto prices can change while you wait for unbonding to end.
As an order-execution-only platform, Ndax doesn't recommend one option over the other, so the choice is entirely yours.
