How to stake crypto

Before you begin

To stake crypto on Ndax, go to the Staking page, choose an asset, select a plan, enter an amount, and confirm. You'll need to complete the staking questionnaire first. Your crypto starts receiving rewards after the asset's bonding period ends.

  • Complete the staking questionnaire. When you first go to the Staking dashboard, you'll be asked to complete it before you can stake.
  • Hold the asset in your Ndax wallet. You can buy it on Ndax or deposit it from another wallet.
  • Check the asset's page for its plans, advertised reward rate, bonding and unbonding periods, minimum, and payout schedule.
  • Read the Crypto Asset Statement for the asset.
  • Accept the staking terms. The first time you stake each asset, you'll be asked to accept the staking terms and acknowledge the Staking Risk Statement. You won't need to do this again for that asset.
  • You can cancel within 4 hours. If you change your mind within 4 hours of staking, you can cancel. Your full amount returns to your wallet and isn't staked.
  • Review the fee. A 20% administration fee applies to rewards, not to your staked crypto. See How staking rewards and fees work.

How to Cancel a Staking Subscription Within the 4-Hour Grace Period

On the Ndax website

After initiating a staking subscription, you have a 4-hour grace period to cancel the subscription before the bonding period begins. Cancelling within this period allows you to unstake your assets without an early redemption penalty. You will not receive staking rewards for the cancelled subscription.

  1. After logging in to the Ndax website, select Staking from the menu on the left side of the page.
  2. Scroll to the cryptocurrency for which you recently created a staking subscription.
  3. Under the staking plan, locate the Pending Amount, then click the three dots next to the staking plan.
  4. If the staking subscription is still within the 4-hour grace period, you will see Cancel followed by the amount of time remaining, such as Cancel (03:58).
  5. Click Cancel.
  6. A confirmation message will appear advising that you may unstake without a redemption penalty within 4 hours of staking your assets and that you will not generate staking rewards if the staking subscription is cancelled.
  7. Review the information, then click Confirm to cancel the staking subscription.

Please note: The Cancel option is only available during the 4-hour grace period. The countdown displayed next to Cancel indicates how much time remains before the grace period expires.

On the Ndax app

  1. After logging in to the Ndax mobile app, tap Stake from the bottom navigation menu.
  2. Under Staked Assets, scroll to the cryptocurrency you recently staked. You should see an orange dot next to the asset. Tap the cryptocurrency.
  3. On the next page, under Active Plans, locate the staking plan showing the Start Date and Cancel With No Penalty with the remaining 4-hour countdown.
  4. Tap the three dots next to the staking plan.
  5. Tap Unstake.
  6. A confirmation message will appear asking, “Are you sure you want to cancel this staking plan?”
  7. Tap Yes, cancel.

Once completed, you will see the confirmation message “Your Staking Plan Has Been Cancelled.”

Please note: The option to cancel without a penalty is only available during the 4-hour grace period. The countdown displayed under the active plan shows how much time remains.

What happens next

Here's what to expect after you stake:

  • Your crypto enters the asset's bonding period. It doesn't receive rewards during this time.
  • After bonding ends, your crypto starts receiving rewards on the asset's payout schedule.
  • You can track your staked balance and rewards on the Staking page.
Adding to a staking position

You can add to a staking position at any time by following the same steps. The asset's minimum applies to each amount you add.

Troubleshooting

I can't start staking. You'll need to complete the staking questionnaire first. You'll be asked to complete it when you go to the Staking dashboard. If you've completed it and still can't stake, our support team is happy to help through live chat.

The amount I entered isn't accepted. Check the minimum on the asset's page and make sure you have enough of the asset in your wallet.

My staked crypto isn't receiving rewards yet. This is normal during the bonding period. Check the asset's page for how long it lasts.
